Toddler Constipation
Constipation is quite common in toddlers. Toddler Constipation is common for various reasons. Our toddler has been constipated one time in his entire 18 months. We give him 100% apple juice daily and give him foods high in fiber.
Toddler constipation is most commonly caused by the following three things:
1.) Toddler has a diet that is low in Fiber
2.) Toddler starts holding bowel movements because the toddler anticipates it hurting.
3.) Toddler drinks too much milk
Some quick & easy ways to get rid of constipation in toddlers are as follows:
1.) Increase the fiber in toddlers diet by
offering high fiber foods such as corn, beans, potatoes and raw fruits.
2.) Increase liquid intake in the form of 100% apple juice and water
3.) Decrease constipating foods such as milk and cheese
If these simple remedies do not work you should call your pediatrician for further advice and helpful information about your toddler.
