Winnie The Pooh Blanket For A Boy?

My 2 year old toddler son LOVES and ADORES Winnie The Pooh. He has the movies, he has some of the stuffed toys, and a few other plastic Winnie The Pooh toys. And, now I'm thinking about getting him a Winnie The Pooh Bed set. But, I can't find a Winnie The Pooh bed set for boys or atleast one with a boy's style. Everything I see is pink or purple. Does anyone know where I can get a red and blue or more neutral Winnie The Pooh comforter/blanket. Maybe I should get one made. Or, maybe I shouldn't buy one at all. He may grow out of Winnie The Pooh soon. Help a mommy out here.

Halloween Books for Your Toddler

I've been looking for some fun Halloween board books for my 2 year old son. I enjoy teaching my kids about the holidays especially Halloween. Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays out of the year. I love passing on my traditions to my kids and just enjoying the holidays all that I can.

I ended up buying My First Halloween Book and a Spongebob Halloween board book (with glow in the dark eyes that our 5 year old is really impressed with) to add to our Halloween book collection. We already own Spooky Cat, Franklin's Halloween and a few mini boards books about Halloween. My 2 year old is actually obsessed with Winnie The Pooh. I searched for a Winnie The Pooh Halloween board book online but I didn't end up ordering the Winnie Pooh Halloween book since it wasn't in stock at the time that I placed an order with Amazon.com.

What are some Halloween books that you enjoy reading to your toddler, baby, or other children? How about Fall/Autumn related books? I'd love to hear about some good Fall books that are toddler-appropriate to add to our growing Halloween/Fall book collection.

Fall/Autumn Tree & Acorn Craft Activity

Last week my boys and I decided that we would make a big home-made Fall/Autumn Door scene. We looked around online for several different Fall craft activities and came upon a cute one featuring little acorn people.

Below is what you will need to complete the above craft:

crayons or markers
kids scissors
glue or glue stick
printer paper & printer
tape

After we printed out the acorn printables from the above link, we colored them and then cut them out and glued them together. Once all of the Fall acorns were finished, we created a tree big enough for all the acorns. We used 4 acorns so we had a medium sized tree to fit in our door window. You can make any kind of tree you want as long as you incorporate fall/autumn colors such as browns and oranges mixed in with a little green. You will then tape the pieces of the tree to the window and then tape the acorns to the tree and window. We also added a squirrel to our scene that we found online.

This is a fun and easy Fall craft for toddlers, preschool age and kindergarten age kids. Our finished piece is the photo above.

Parents, have fund doing this activity with your toddler and happy Fall!

Backyardigan's Halloween Costume

The Backyardigan's are one of the most watched cartoons of toddler-aged children. It's no surprise then that toddlers want to be a Backyardigan for Halloween.

Does your child want to be a Backyardigan for Halloween? All of the costumes are available online at Amazon.com, BuyCostume.com and at the NickJr Store. They can be Pablo, Uniqua, Tyrone, Tasha or Austin. It looks though that these costumes are already selling out fast and we still have over a month to go before Halloween gets here.

If you don't want to spend a large amount of money on a costume, crafty parents can get creative and make a homemade backyardigan Halloween costume too.

Mom Fitness

After labor day, the holidays seem to approach us faster and faster which reminds us of the previous new year and those not so fun resolutions that we made. Can you believe that another year is almost over? And, the holidays are fast approaching. What are you going to do to get or stay fit and healthy as the holidays come along?

There are lots of things you could be doing to get or stay fit. How about taking your baby or toddler out for a stroller walk once per day? It's so much easier for me to get out and walk once the weather gets cooler. I like to take my boys for a stroll. Well, one of them walks or rides a bike while the toddler gets to be in the stroller.

How about joining a mom fitness class? I happened upon a website for moms called moms in motion that is a national health and fitness community for moms. There are groups in many cities and if not you can start your own team with other moms. You can meet and exercise with other moms in your city which I think is such a good thing. I would just love a mom fitness center to be available in my area but since there isnt I'll stick to my own routine of stroller walks for fitness, playing baseball, basketball, soccer, and other things in our yard with our kids, and my "few nights a week spot exercises".

If we want our kids to be healthy, we've got to be healthy. So, moms, what is your game plan for fitness?

Say hello to our newest top toddler mom blog, Tanyetta. Please go visit her today and tell her we sent you. She is currently dealing with her husband's deployment to Iraq and needs all the support and love she can get. Take a few minutes and read her interview below too.

1.) Please tell Us more about yourself

I'm married to my high school sweetheart and we have two beautiful children. Danyelle (18 years old) and Darrin (DJ) 22 months. After the birth of our son, I traded in my business suits to enjoy building blocks, play dough and fun times at the park. I'm a stay at home mom and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

2) Tell us about your toddler

His name is Darrin and we call him DJ. He's 22 months and he is smart and absolutely amazing! He loves books, playing with toys and all of his friends.

3) What is the best thing about having a mom blog?

The best thing about blogging is, I have very supportive readers who always give me straight from the hip advice. Once I became a mommy all over again, I needed an outlet to voice my concerns and thoughts. I honestly believe blogging keeps me grounded and reminds me that I'm not alone in this world of mommy hood.
